Hairstyles for Bridesmaids With Long Hair 2013: If you're a bride, maybe you've already found the perfect white dress, a gorgeous veil and to-die-for shoes. If you're a bridesmaid, maybe you've already been fitted for your tulle dress, matchy-matchy shoes and flower bouquet. But have you decided how to wear your long hair? I'm seeing a lot of requests for long hair bridal styles in the salon. Here are my top five long hair bridal designs for this year's weddings.
1. Long and wavy. Super-starched, tight spiral curls have been replaced by fresh, loose waves. Loose waves are popular everywhere, especially on brides. It's a look that is soft, sophisticated and completely modern and unfussy. This looks best with a simple dress and a gorgeous, off the face, veil. If your hair is very long, it will cover part of your dress, so keep that in mind when choosing your dress and hair styles.
2. Half up, half down. If you are petite, you might be overwhelmed by a big dress, big veil and big hair. You can still have the beauty of long, loose waves without being overwhelmed by hair. Just take the same loose waves hairstyle, but pin the crown section of hair back into a barrette. This will keep your hair back away from your face and let you be the star. It also creates a nice place to pin your veil.
3. Loose chignon. If your dress is fancy, or strapless, you probably don't want to cover it up with your long hair. Instead, twist it up into a loose chignon or simple French twist. Keep it soft and simple so as not to compete with your dress. Don't pull it too tight, because the look will be too severe for today's soft styles. You can even leave some soft curls around your face if you desire.
4. Ballerina bun. If your dress is ballerina shaped, or the skirt is full with a fitted waist, you may want to consider a ballerina bun for balance. This is a bun worn high on the head, and can be braided or twisted for effect. A half veil can be tucked under the bun to hang down the back of your dress for a Cinderella feel.
Hairstyles for Bridesmaids With Long Hair 2013: Creative style. As a stylist, this is my favorite kind of long hair bridal style. If your dress is simple and you want to showcase your shoulders and your hair, this is a great way to go. Imagine your hair pulled back with lots of little twisted strands, or a ponytail that has been pinned into a cascade of loops. Or better yet, a fun combination of both will show off your personality and your great bridal style.
